Series: It’s Alright
At thirteen, facing a move to France, I hid in my best friend’s wardrobe, hoping that if I stayed there I wouldn’t have to leave her. The wardrobe became a temporary shelter, keeping me close to the person I wanted to be with while the world outside was changing. This painting is about friendship, belonging and wanting to hold on a little longer.
